Geochemical Orientation Over the Genegantslet Shale Gas Field, New York A multi-discplinary study was carried out over the Genegantslet Shale Gas Field in Chenango County, NY. The study, which was co-funded by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDSA), integrated geological, geophysical and geochemical techniques to define the surface expression of the field. As indicated in Figures 1 and 2, the field does have a surface geochemical expression in terms of gas probability and percent methane.
